Our History

Liberty Thrift & Home Furnishings was created in 1998 to help fund our ministry, Liberty Ministries. We started as a small store in Schwenksville, PA, but have grown into a bigger operation with 6 stores and a thrift center. Check out our history below!

August 10, 1998

Liberty Thrift opens in Schwenksville, PA.



January 2001

Liberty Home Furnishings opens in Schwenksville, PA.

March 2002

Liberty purchased their first truck! This allowed Liberty to offer free furniture pickups and to also make deliveries!

Liberty Home Furnishings (2nd store) moved to Collegeville, PA and was renamed Liberty Thrift & Home Furnishings

January 2005

Opened Gilbertsville, PA location

Liberty Thrift (1st store) moved to Collegeville, PA and was renamed Little Liberty.

May 2005

Opened a warehouse for sorting/pricing clothing in Collegeville, PA



October 2006

Opened Pottstown, PA location

Closed Gilbertsville, PA location

Liberty teamed up with Camp Men-O-Lan and started sending kids to camp!

Opened Thrift Center in Perkiomenville, PA.  This location comprises of our offices, clothing processing, and recycling center.

January 2014

Opened Liberty Outlet in Pottstown, PA.



May 2016

Liberty Outlet moved from Pottstown, PA to Spring City, PA.

Summer 2016

Opened Sanatoga, PA location.
